Sharon Butler was born in England, raised in South Africa and attended the University of Art and Design in the U.K. Influenced by her African childhood, Sharon has had a life-long interest in African and American Art with an on-going fascination with native form, design and color. Sharon works in all mediums, but prefers acrylics with which she can obtain a beaded, three-dimensional effective - a signature technique for which she is known. Some of her works are museum pieces that she has photographed and recreated. Additional works include pieces that depict certain tribes and cultures. Sharon's work is represented in collections in Europe, Africa and the United States. During her career she has won numerous awards and ribbons, being recognized for her unique style.
